Lenora Shaffer Ralph died March 15, a few weeks before her 86th birthday. Ralph, who spent much of her free time duckpin bowling, was born in Poland and left with her family when she was 3. Her husband of 64 years, Jack Ralph, said she liked to tell everyone she was an American. She worked for a short time at the Veterans Administration and the National Production Authority. She and her husband lived in Silver Spring and had a table at the Wheaton Plaza flea market. More recently they moved to Leisure World.
As soon as her youngest son was old enough, she took him to take part in duckpin bowling. She excelled and was ranked in the area for about 20 years. Lenora was the devoted mother of Bradley (Gloria) Ralph and Michael (Marcy) Ralph, and the loving grandmother of Abby, Alexandra, Maria, Neil and Jeffrey.
