Marc Jacobs, of Rochester, N.Y., died in hospice after losing a valiant battle against a host of illnesses on July 25. He was 83. Marc grew up in Detroit, Silver Spring and Washington. He attended Brandeis University and there he met his wife of 42 years, Judith M. Jacobs. He worked in both the federal government and in private consulting firms and he earned a master’s degree in public administration from American University. He completed his working life with 17 years in the U.S. Secret Service and then retired to Rochester. He served as president of the Bethesda Jewish Congregation. Marc was predeceased by his beloved wife in 2004. He is survived by his son, Stephen Jacobs (Patricia Ann Durr); and daughter, Liane Jacobs (John Joseph McDonald); and grandchildren, Zoe Durr Jacobs, Noah Durr Jacobs, Jonah McDonald and Evelin McDonald.
