Marvin W. Jaffe, formerly of Leisure World in Silver Spring and Delray Beach, Fla., died on Oct. 17. He was 97. Beloved husband of the late Lenore S. Jaffe; devoted father of Adam Jaffe (Brenda Yarcag) and Matthew Jaffe (Holli Beckerman Jaffe); cherished grandfather of Ben and Lainie Jaffe. Marvin was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Jaffe.
Marvin was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on Dec. 17, 1923, the eldest son of Morris and Blanche Jaffe. After enrolling in City College of New York, Marvin enlisted at 18 in the Army and served in the Signal Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He obtained a master’s degree in industrial engineering from Columbia University under the G.I. Bill. Marvin pursued a lifelong career in engineering at Aerojet and Grumman/Northrup Grumman, serving as an executive until his retirement. He and Lenore were married over 58 years.
