Matlee ‘Mati’ Katleman Yadin

Matlee “Mati” Katleman Yadin, of Silver Spring, passed away suddenly on Oct. 19. She was 85. She was born in Omaha, Neb., on June 29,1937, to Sidney Katleman and Rose Wilfson Katlemen. She moved to the Washington, D.C., area with her new husband, Mordechai “Mort” Yadin, in 1960. After teaching fifth grade, Mati embarked on a lifelong career as a dedicated volunteer and lay leader in numerous local and national Jewish organizations.

Matlee was the loving wife of Mordechai Yadin. Beloved mother of Naomi Esther Yadin-Mendick (David) and Elliot Yadin (Kinneret Rand-Yadin). Devoted sister of Ferne Katleman. Cherished grandmother of Mira, Ethan and Gabriella Mendick, and Max Nissen (Joy), Sydni (Tomer David), Noam, Adi and Amit Rand. And great-grandmother of Ariella and Itai Nissen. Contributions may be made to B’nai Israel Congregation, Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) or The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington (earmarked for disabilities inclusion).
