Mid-Atlantic Media, which publishes Washington Jewish Week and Baltimore Jewish Times, took 19 honors in advertising and design from the MDDC Press Association, representing publications in Maryland, Delaware and Washington. The publications competed against other nondailies with a circulation under 15,000.
For Washington Jewish Week, designers Kim Michalov, Michael Jankovitz and Alyona Motkina won first place in the retail, restaurant/entertainment, motor vehicle advertisements and advertising campaign categories.
Ellen Minsavage, Lindsey Bridwell, Erin Clare also won first place in special publications for the Washington Guide to Jewish Life, while Joe MacLeod and Mike Marshall won first place in special sections for the spring bar and bat mitzvah section.
Marshall won two second-place awards for restaurant/entertainment and house promotion advertisements.
Marshall, MacLeod and Motkina received third-place awards in the categories of restaurant/entertainment, retail and special publications.
For the Baltimore Jewish Times, Clare and Jankovitz took home first-place awards for business non-retail and real estate advertisements.
Lindsey Bridwell, Ebony Brown, Jennifer Perkins-Frantz, Jankovitz and Clare won three second-place awards for special publications, special sections and custom publications.
And Lonna Koblick, Cortney Geare, Jankovitz and Bridwell received three third-place awards for business nonretail advertisements in small and large print, and custom publications.
