The much-anticipated biblical epic Noah didn’t disappoint at the box office this past weekend. The Darren Aronofsky-directed film — starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson and Logan Lerman — drew in $44 million this weekend, easily taking the top spot.

Despite it’s first weekend box office success, the movie has been getting average ratings and reviews, earning a “C” CinemaScore rating from moviegoers. Its box office earnings knocked films from last week down one slot. Divergent stands at No. 2 with $26.5 million and Muppets Most Wanted took No. 3, with $11.4 million. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, looks to give Noah a run for its money when it’s released April 4. — Ian Zelaya
