At a garden party fundraiser last Sunday afternoon at the Bolger Center held by American Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, attendees were well groomed, as philanthropists are wont to be, and most played nicely with each other. A few, however, barked and growled when they met.
One rather hefty partygoer got a biscuit stuck in her mouth.
All this was to be expected at a canine confab, said dog lover and local TV journalist Leon Harris, master of ceremonies for Paws for a Cause 2015, a benefit for The Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at Hebrew U. Chaired by Leslie and Bruce Lane (and dog, “Muffin”), the party raised more than $100,000 for Israel’s first and only school of veterinary medicine.
