Allan and Shelley Holt of Potomac recently became members of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Founders Society, which recognizes those who have committed to giving gifts of $1 million or more to the museum.
Allan Holt, a senior official at the Carlyle Group, is the son of Auschwitz survivors. The Holt’s gift will support the museum’s Center for the Prevention of Genocide (CPG) as it aims to expand its online and social media reach.
“If we want to educate a broad public audience about the Holocaust and the lessons of the Holocaust, we need to do that in a digital space,” said Mike Abramowitz, director of the CPG. “The Holt’s contribution will enable us to launch very exciting and innovative digital products that will take the stories of the museum into a much broader space outside the walls of the museum. We’re incredibly grateful to the Holts.”
