Ryan Lawrence Needle, son of Barbara Wachter Needle and Martin Needle and grandson of Nadine and Lloyd Needle and Jeanne Wachter and the late Louis Wachter, will become a bar mitzvah Saturday at B’nai Israel Congregation in Rockville. Ryan is a seventh-grade student at Cabin John Middle School. For his mitzvah project, he is volunteering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to help keep the Chesapeake Bay clean and healthy for future generations, with projects like planting trees to help prevent runoff. He is also donating a portion of his bar mitzvah funds to the Israel Goldstein Youth Village, a boarding school for new immigrants and disadvantaged children in Israel.
