Sheldon I. London, of the Washington area, passed away on Jan. 13. Shelly was born on Feb. 13, 1938, in Norwich, Conn. Shelly came to the Washington area with his wife, Marge, in 1964 from Connecticut. He was a proud graduate of Dartmouth College with a law degree from University of Connecticut. He was general counsel and “Washington expert” to a number of trade associations as part of his legal practice.
He, together with Marge, played an important role in the growth of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Associates of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (AABGU) and was on the National Board. As far back as 1948, when he was selected to read its Declaration of Statehood at his synagogue in New London, Conn., Israel was a constant touchstone for him.
