Eight Jewish a cappella (vocals only, no instruments) singing groups squared off on Adas Israel Congregation’s bimah Saturday night in Kol HaOlam, the National Collegiate Jewish a Cappella Championship. Mezumenet, an all-female ensemble from the University of Maryland, had the crowd in stitches during its rendition of “Not About That Traif,” but it was Tizmoret, a group from Queens College in New York City, that took top honors at the singing competition.
