Jeff Blankfort’s letter (“Brutal bombing” WJW, Aug. 28) demands that American Jews who publicly defend Israel’s bombing of Gaza in the recent conflict “better be prepared to take the heat.” OK, Jeff, I’ll make you a deal: I’ll happily take the heat for publicly defending Israel’s actions in Gaza
during Operation Protective Edge. In return, let’s see whether you can defend Hamas’ kidnapping and killing Israeli teens; Hamas’ and other Gaza terrorists’ firing thousands of rockets and mortars at Israeli civilian population centers; the terrorists’ use of Gaza schools, mosques, hospitals and residential neighborhoods to store and launch rockets; their use of Gaza civilians as human shields; and their network of tunnels designed to enable them to infiltrate into Israel to kidnap and kill more Jews.
