A caller to C-SPAN’s Washington Journal on Wednesday morning accused Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) of dual loyalty with the United States and Israel during a segment focused on the Iran nuclear deal.
The ranking Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee ripped into the caller, saying that “I take great offense to that. Our loyalty is to America, our concerns are with America, our religion is our personal business and should have nothing to do with an evaluation from anyone as to our objectivity on issues concerning America.”
Last month, nationally syndicated radio show host Diane Rehm wrongly stated that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) had dual United States-Israeli citizenship.
