Vivian Bass named JWI’s new vice chair

Jewish Women International, the leading Jewish organization working to end domestic violence and empower women and girls, today announced new board leadership for the 2014 and 2015 fiscal years. Vivian G. Bass is the new vice chair. Bass, chief executive officer of The Jewish Foundation for Group Homes (JFGH) in Washington, has spoken at major national and international disabilities and Jewish conferences and has played a pivotal role in legislative and consumer advocacy efforts. She has been the recipient of many awards, including Washingtonian of the Year by Washingtonian Magazine and was a JWI 2007 Community Leader and Woman to Watch honoree. She is also a Lion of Judah, a distinction recognizing committed donors to the Jewish Federations of North America and Federations globally. Among numerous leadership roles, she serves on the board and chairs the governance and ethics committee of Leadership Montgomery, a Montgomery County, organization that brings together current and emerging leaders to improve the county.
