Robert Katz, of South Hadley, Mass., died Sept. 16. He was 84. He received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was grants administrator at the National Institutes of Health.
He was a member of Tikvat Israel Congregation and Toastmasters International, both in Rockville. He received the Distinguished Toastmasters Award in 2014 and the National Institutes of Health NIH Director’s Award in 1989.
Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth Katz. Survived by his wife, Judith (Judy) Haberman Katz, of South Hadley; children, Dana Katz and Shira Katz; and grandchildren, Ezra Rosenberg, Maayan Rosenberg, Jonah Yas and Dahlia Yas.
